Arapahoe Basin Abruptly Opens for the Season Today

Early this afternoon, Arapahoe Basin announced its 2020-21 season opening via tweet. The resort’s Black Mountain Express, which will only service the High Noon trail, will be open until 4:30pm today for Season, Any Day, and Ikon Passholders. Tomorrow, the lift will return to its regular operating hours of 9am to 4pm. For today only, Ikon Passholders will not need to make a reservation to visit the mountain.

Lift tickets are now available for purchase through December 18.

Our Take

This is the first time in recent memory we’ve seen an opening announcement as abrupt as this one. We hope a few passholders get the chance to make it up to the resort and get some turns in.
