Accommodation: 3 nights in Queenstown, 4 nights in Methven
Locations: Queenstown & Methven area ski resorts
Resorts: Coronet Peak, The Remarkables, Treble Cone, Cardrona, Mt. Hutt
Recommended Ability Level: Low Intermediate to Expert

Addendum: We know travel is hard—so while the base trip is only a week, we are offering addendum options to hang in New Zealand for several more days.

The friendships you’ll make within the PeakHouse community will be just as epic as New Zealand.

What’s Included

  • Accommodation: 7 nights in ski-lodge-style accommodations

  • Groceries: Fully-stocked kitchen for snacks and on-demand meals

  • Transport: Private vehicles + rental cars for all destinations and activities

  • Meals: Daily breakfasts and select group dinners

  • Airfare to and from New Zealand

Day 1: Arrive in Queenstown (August 22nd)

  • Arrival: The carpool will pick you up from the Queenstown Airport (ZQN) or a local accommodation. (It is highly suggested that you arrive a day or two early to give yourself a little time to recover from the jetlag. Flights to New Zealand from the US can take upwards of 24 hours.)

  • Welcome Dinner & Drinks: Unwind from your travels, meet your fellow trip-goers, and enjoy a hearty welcome meal in town. Take in the spectacular alpine views as you prepare for the days ahead.

Day 2: Coronet Peak (August 23rd)

  • Breakfast: Fuel up with a hearty breakfast at the lodge before hitting the slopes.

  • Morning Skiing/Riding: Coronet Peak is known for its well-groomed trails and incredible vistas. Early risers can take advantage of First Tracks for fresh morning powder.

  • Group Lunch (optional): Meet at Heidi’s Hut for a relaxed, scenic break.

  • Afternoon Skiing/Riding: Continue exploring Coronet Peak’s diverse terrain or take advantage of the unique night skiing under floodlit trails.

  • Après & Dinner: Relax at the lodge or join the crew for an optional night out in Queenstown.

Day 3: The Remarkables (August 24th)

  • Breakfast: Another big breakfast to prep for an epic day.

  • Morning Skiing/Riding: The Remarkables offer wide-open bowls, challenging steeps, and plenty of options for all abilities.

  • Group Lunch (optional): Take a break at the Remarkables Base Café.

  • Afternoon Skiing/Riding: Advanced skiers can explore the backcountry-style terrain, while intermediates enjoy the long, flowing groomers.

  • Après in Town (Optional): Celebrate an amazing ski day with a drink by the lake or dinner at one of Queenstown’s renowned restaurants.

Our road trip itinerary will be almost as cool as the skiing and riding itself!

Day 4: Travel to Methven & Treble Cone (August 25th)

  • Breakfast: Early breakfast before hitting the road.

  • Drive to Treble Cone: Take a scenic drive to Wanaka for a day of skiing at Treble Cone, known for its steep terrain, long runs, and breathtaking lake views.

  • Skiing/Riding: Advanced skiers will love the chutes and off-piste terrain, while intermediates can carve up the wide-open groomers.

  • Group Lunch (optional): Stop at the on-mountain café for a midday refuel.

  • Afternoon Skiing/Riding: Enjoy Treble Cone’s famous powder and panoramic views before making the drive to Methven in the evening.

  • Check-in & Relax: Settle into your Methven accommodation and enjoy a cozy group dinner.

Day 5: Cardrona Alpine Resort (August 26th)

  • Breakfast: Another morning feast to fuel up.

  • Skiing/Riding: Cardrona is a paradise for all skill levels, featuring excellent groomers, terrain parks, and off-piste areas.

  • Group Lunch (optional): Take a break at the Cardrona Alpine Café.

  • Afternoon Skiing/Riding: Ride until last chair, then head back to Methven to unwind.

  • Après at the Lodge: Relax in the hot tub or gather around the fireplace for a relaxed evening.

Day 6: Mt. Hutt (August 27th)

  • Breakfast: Eat up before tackling one of New Zealand’s best ski resorts.

  • Morning Skiing/Riding: Mt. Hutt is famous for its reliable snowfall and varied terrain. Cruise the groomers or hit the steeps for an adrenaline rush.

  • Group Lunch (optional): Gather at the Ski High Café to refuel.

  • Afternoon Skiing/Riding: Continue exploring the mountain or relax back at the lodge.

  • Optional Activity: Head to a local bar in Methven for a relaxed evening with new friends.

Day 7: Mt. Hutt (August 28th)

  • Breakfast: A final full ski day starts with another hearty breakfast.

  • Morning Skiing/Riding: Enjoy another day at Mt. Hutt, focusing on your favorite runs or venturing into new areas.

  • Group Lunch (optional): A midday break before one last afternoon on the slopes.

  • Afternoon Skiing/Riding: Ride until you’re ready to call it a day.

  • Farewell Dinner: Celebrate an epic trip with a final group dinner, sharing stories from the week.

Day 8 (Non-Addendum): Departure from Christchurch (August 29th)

  • Breakfast & Check-out: Enjoy a final breakfast before heading to Christchurch Airport (CHC) for departure. We recommend booking flights for after 12:00pm.

Optional Addendum – North Island Skiing (August 29th–September 1st)

  • Sam is headed up to the North Island’s volcanic slopes to review Whakapapa and Turoa on Mount Ruapehu. Who wants to come??

Day 8 (Addendum): Travel to the North Island (August 29th)

  • Morning: Depart Christchurch and catch a flight to Taupō or Auckland, then drive to the Mt. Ruapehu region.

  • Afternoon: Check into accommodations in Ohakune or National Park Village (TBD depending on group size).

  • Evening: Group dinner and trip briefing, prepping for skiing the North Island’s legendary volcanic terrain.

Day 9: Whakapapa Ski Area (August 30th)

  • Skiing/Riding: Whakapapa is New Zealand’s largest ski area, and it offers everything from long groomers to steep volcanic chutes. We’ll be exploring all of it in our singular day there—including some backcountry zones. (NOTE: depending on demand, we can potentially do two days here and extend this addendum by an additional day.)

  • Group Lunch (optional): If we have time, we’ll stop for a break at the Knoll Ridge Chalet—New Zealand’s highest-altitude restaurant.

  • Post-Slopes Après: Unwind with drinks and dinner in National Park Village.

Day 10: Turoa Ski Area (August 31st)

  • Breakfast: Fuel up before hitting Turoa’s vast terrain.

  • Skiing/Riding: Turoa boasts some of the longest vertical drops in New Zealand, with wide-open bowls, natural halfpipes, and excellent off-piste opportunities.

  • Group Lunch (optional): Grab a bite at the base café while soaking in views of the volcanic slopes.

  • Farewell Dinner: Celebrate an epic extended trip with a final group gathering.

Day 11: Departure (September 1st)

  • Morning: Depart for Auckland to catch your flight home.

  • Optional: Depending on flight timing, we can extend with a stop in Rotorua for geothermal hot pools, mountain biking, or cultural experiences.
