Multiple North American Resorts Opening Tomorrow, November 20

Several U.S. resorts, including Vail, Heavenly, Northstar, Park City, and Killington, are set to open for the 2020-21 season tomorrow, November 20. This will be the first day of the 2020-21 season for Lake Tahoe and Vermont.

It’s also worth noting that a few other East Coast resorts, most notably Okemo, Stowe, and Sugarbush, have delayed their openings due to unfavorable weather conditions. Before their announcements, each of these areas were set to open this weekend.

Access Details - Vail, Heavenly, Northstar, and Park City

At Vail, Heavenly, Northstar, and Park City, only multi-day and season passholders will have access before December 8. Due to COVID-related capacity restrictions, all visitors must book their days in advance through the Epic website. For all early season visits, reservations must be made the week of.

At the time of this writing (8pm ET on 11/19), reservations for the upcoming week are already completely booked at Park City. Northstar’s opening weekend is completely booked, as is November 25 (Thanksgiving Eve). All dates for the upcoming week at Heavenly and Vail are still available. It’s worth noting that November 25 and 26 are holiday blackout dates for Epic Local and Summit Value Pass Holders. Week-of reservations for November 21 through November 27 will become available on November 19.

Most core season days—December 8 to April 4—are still available for each of the above mountains. Park City is booked for December 12, and Northstar is booked for both December 12 and 13. Along with week-of bookings, passholders can hold reservations for up to 7 of these days at one time.

Access Details - Killington

After initially delaying to November 23, Killington has now moved its opening date up to tomorrow. Season and Ikon passholders will have access for the resort’s opening day.

To visit Killington, guests must take a series of actions. First, out-of-state visitors must ensure adherence to Vermont’s quarantine requirements.
