A Comprehensive Guide on COVID-19 Resort Policies
In the wake of COVID-19, we’ve seen operational restrictions from every major North American ski resort. Many of you have seen your ski season shortened, and in these trying times, it hasn’t always been easy to find the information you may be looking for. To make things easier for those affected, we’ve compiled a comprehensive guide on closure, exchange, and refund policies by resort.

Operations
Like the overwhelming majority of other Vail Resorts, Afton Alps has been closed for the season. Uphill access is closed.

Alyeska
Operations

Reservations made directly with The Hotel Alyeska during the affected period have been automatically cancelled. Tickets and lodging booked through third-parties are subject to the cancellation policies of the organization through which the booking occurred, although the resort says it will work directly with your company representative for group bookings.
Season passes are non-refundable, but current passholders who renew for the 20/21 season before May 31st will get a 25% discount. There’s no information about Alyeska Choice Pass accommodations on the website, but you can email info@alyeskaresort.com for more information.
Arapahoe Basin
Operations
All operations have been suspended until further notice (at least April 30). Uphill access is closed.

All lift tickets, lessons, dinner bookings, and beach spots for days the resort is closed will be automatically refunded. Refunds will take “several weeks”.
Season and multi-day passes are currently not eligible for a refund. 20/21 season pass deposits are also not refundable.
Ikon Passes are non-refundable, but the renewal discount for current passholders has been doubled and extended to May 26. Mountain Collective Passes are non-refundable.
Arizona Snowbowl
Operations
All operations have been suspended until further notice. Uphill access is closed.

The resort is working to issue refunds for pre-purchased lift tickets, lessons, and rentals. No word on this year’s Power Passes (season pass), but the 20/21 Power Pass is offering optional pass insurance that covers a “Government Ordered Closure” like COVID-19.
Aspen/Snowmass
Operations
Aspen Mountain and Snowmass are closed for the season. No official word on Buttermilk, but its original close date was planned for 4/5. Aspen Highlands operations have been suspended until further notice with the possibility of a late-April re-opening. Uphill access is currently allowed, but no skier services, including patrol, are available.

Berkshire East

Berkshire East closed for the season on March 12.

While no official statement has been put forth by the organization, it’s unlikely that Indy Passes are currently refundable.
Big Bear
Operations
Bear Mountain and Snow Summit are closed for the season. Uphill access is closed.

Lift tickets and hotels booked during the affected period will be fully refunded.
Season passes are non-refundable, although passes that were purchased after February 16 and never used can be rolled over to the 20/21 season. Passholders (including current Ikon passholders) who purchase a 20/21 Big Bear season pass by May 26 and don’t use the rollover will receive an up to $50 resort credit.
Ikon Passes are non-refundable, but the renewal discount for current passholders has been doubled and extended to May 26. In addition, 20/21 passholders will have the option to defer their pass to the 21/22 season at no charge between September 10 and December 10, 2020. Ikon Passholders will not be eligible for the $50 renewal credit, even if they held a 19/20 Big Bear season pass.
Big Boulder

Boyne Mountain

So far, Brian Head has not updated their return policy to factor in COVID-19. According to their website, all products are non-exchangeable and non-refundable—it’s not clear if that’s the case in practice.

Bridger Bowl
Operations
Bridger Bowl has suspended all operations for the season. Uphill access is currently allowed but strongly discouraged by the resort—no skier services, including patrol, are available.

Each 19/20 pass holder who renews their pass before October 31 will receive one complimentary Buddy Ticket valid for a non-peak adult lift ticket during the 20/21 ski season.
Eldora

Vouchers for lift tickets that were set to expire at the end of this season (excluding those purchased through third-party sites) will be accepted until 12/24/2020. Customers who purchased their tickets through Liftopia, which has no official refund statement, are encouraged to contact the organization directly.
Jiminy Peak

Jiminy Peak is closed for the season. Uphill travel is prohibited.

June Mountain
Operations
The resort is closed for the season. Uphill access is closed.

Magic Mountain will not issue refunds for this year’s season passes. However, the price to renew has dropped by up to 10% versus last year’s pass, and the discount period has been extended to June 15. In addition, Magic will provide full credit for a new 21/22 season pass if the government closes ski areas for the season before their 20/21 opening day due to COVID-19. Some partial credit toward a future season pass will be done if the season is shut down early before February 1, 2021.
While no official statement has been put forth by the organization, it’s unlikely that Indy Passes are currently refundable.
Mammoth

Season passes are non-refundable or transferable. 4-pack tickets dated through to the end of this season will be eligible for use next season, but you must keep the physical tickets if you have them already.
