Northstar Restores Free Parking at Village Lots

Northstar has announced that free parking will return to the resort’s Village View lot for the 2020-21 season. Full-day access to this lot, which is adjacent to the Highlands pulse gondola, cost $20 last season.

The announcement follows a lawsuit where a 2019-20 season passholder successfully argued he wasn’t able to use the pass due to the new paid parking policy.

Our Take

When we reviewed Northstar this season, we wrote that their paid parking setup felt like a money grab. Every other Lake Tahoe resort offers free parking within reasonable walking distance to the slopes, and Northstar charged a $20/day premium for their Village View parking despite an abundance of spots there.

Looks like the general public agreed, and it seems that Northstar is trying to rectify their blunder.
